Replacement of 14 Crowns
Case Study Details
This patient presented to the office concerned about her old crowns and her gummy smile. After our smile analyses, she elected to have gingival crown lengthening and replacement of 14 crowns on her upper arch. This presented a challenge because we needed to do the gingival change at the same time as the crown removal otherwise she would go through a stage where her crown junction and her tooth would be exposed. This would not look very good.
We preplanned the procedure utilizing a prefabricated temporary as a surgical guide. We knew where we wanted her gum to end up so we planned that in the lab with the temporary. Her appointment took 3 hours and gave us this beautiful result.
