Changing a face utilizing dentistry

Case Study Details

This patient had a severe underbite that required orthognathic surgery.  Orthognathic surgery repositions the jaws to improve facial esthetics, the bite, and improve airway.  Orthognathic surgery is done in conjunction with braces. In this case the surgery was done by OMFS Dr. Sanford Ratner and the Braces by Dr. John Digiovanni. After the completion of the surgery the patient still had very short teeth. We performed esthetic crown lengthening where we removed gum and bone to elongate the teeth.  Six weeks later we performed 5 veneers and placed one implant in the place of the patients right canine.  The result is life changing and the patient could not have been happier.
